I ran into the perfect guy – Literally!

I am not normally the type of person to share things on line. In fact I am not the type of person to share details of my life, period. So why am I doing it now you may ask. Well I guess I just want people out there to know…ie people just like me….that love is out there if you take the time to look.

I am a thirty something woman who up until last year, had never had a boyfriend. I was not a lonely sad sack of a person with no friends or interests. In fact, I have lots of friends who were constantly trying to set me up on dates. I know a lot of singles jogging together I enjoy lots of different out door pursuits and I have a job that keeps me busy and fulfilled. I really have no explanation as to the reason why I was single at the ripe old age of 34 but I was. Actually I was beginning to think that I would be single forever and was not entirely unhappy with the idea. I kept busy, was active in my community and quite honestly enjoyed my own company. So one day I guess the stars were aligned and I met Peter. We often laugh about how we came to find each other.

I had signed up for a local 10K fun run and the morning of the start was cool and wet. I loved running with large groups of people and I feed off the energy of the other runners and spectators. Abut 2 k from the finish the weather turned nasty and it really started to pour. Visibility was not great and it was hard to run around other runners. I must have closed my eyes for half a second and then I felt myself fall as I hit the pavement and took another runner down with me. When I got my bearings I noticed that I had actually landed right on top of another runner who had a nasty scrape on his head and was bleeding. I jumped up and grabbed some tissues out of my pocket and started to clean him up. I noticed that he had very nice blue eyes and a lovely smile.

I helped him up and he shook my hand and thanked me for helping him. We walked and then slowly ran to the finish line together without saying anything. Occasionally we would look at each other and smile. At the finish line, we high-fived each other and he told me his name for the first time.

His name is Peter and we have been together ever since then. We enjoy running but I do try not to run him over!
